Research Interests
Research Interests:
Microbial ecology is the study of the interactions and linkages that occur within specific spatial contexts among microbial communities

Scientific interests
My research investigates the complex role of the human microbiome in health maintenance and illness progression. I am especially keen on elucidating the interactions between microbial communities and host physiology, immunity, and metabolism, as well as how dysbiosis—disruptions in these microbial ecosystems—contributes to chronic ailments such as inflammatory bowel disease, metabolic disorders, cancer, and neurological conditions. Through the integration of multi-omics methodologies, encompassing metagenomics, metabolomics, and host transcriptomics, I intend to find microbial signatures, pathways, and metabolites that function as biomarkers or therapeutic targets. My objective is to convert these findings into targeted therapies, including probiotics, prebiotics, or dietary alterations, to reestablish microbial equilibrium and enhance health outcomes. This research connects fundamental microbial ecology with therapeutic applications, providing innovative approaches to prevent, detect, and cure disorders associated with the microbiome.
